Agile by Example event presentation

Joe’s first activity in Europe was speaking at an event in Poland.

Joe was on stage for the closing keynote and panel discussion.

The theme of Keynote is “SpaceX Agile by Example”. Some of you may have heard Joe talk about Tesla and SpaceX in Japan. I think there were some people who were shocked by the speed and structure, and I think many people here in Poland felt the same way.

In other presentations, I was able to hear advanced case studies, but many of the topics, such as introduction and mindset, were close to and resonated with issues that are being raised in Japan.

The event was held in Poland, and there were speakers and participants from various countries, and everything was conducted in English. I felt that being able to use English would instantly increase the amount of information I could get. (I am also at a junior high school English level, but I am motivated to study English.)

In between speaking on stage, Joe was also recording a podcast!

Warsaw2

Wiki Flow, Wiki Agile conference

A two-day conference on Wiki Flow and Wiki Agile was held.

The members come from a variety of countries, including Scotland, Finland, Sweden, the United States, Germany, and Poland, making they a global company.

They are agile experts. They are creating playbooks for change and more. I hope to be able to introduce this on ABI in the near future!

Sweden

Stockholm1

JoeDX class

They held a face-to-face JoeDX class.
Online classes are great, but I was able to feel the passion up close that only face-to-face classes can provide!

Stockholm2

SAAB Advice Mtg

SAAB is an aircraft and munitions manufacturer that operates in more than 60 countries around the world.

It is also one of the companies that practices agile hardware, and Joe gave them some advice.

In addition to aircraft, the company also manufactures submarines, etc., and we would like to keep an eye on how it will develop in the future. SAAB operates under the slogan of “Keeping people and society safe.”

Finland

Wiki Agile launch party presentation

Joe was on stage at the Wiki Agile launch party.

They are an agile company founded by two women. This event was made possible in just two weeks of preparation, and as expected from these two Agile experts!

They were so full of energy and passion that I wanted to continue taking on challenges no matter how old I was!

Joe was also on stage there. Thankfully, there are many people in Finland who know Joe, and we’ve even had people say to him, “I’m a big fan!”

I think ABI may collaborate with Wiki Agile in the future!

JoeDX class

We traveled north from Helsinki, the capital of Finland, to conduct a JoeDX class at Keppo. More than 50 people participated! The company develops various products including polishing tools, and not only employees but also suppliers participated in JoeDX. Having the companies we collaborate with participate is the quickest way to reach a common understanding.

Also, at this company, I was able to experience the flat organizational culture unique to Scandinavia. Everyone exchanged opinions freely in an environment with no sense of hierarchy. Communication was so natural and open that it was difficult to determine who was actually the CEO. This experience made me realize how important it is to have equal relationships within an organization.

This looks like a conference place, but it was a nice place with accommodations as well. By the way, no matter where you stay in Finland, there is a sauna. (My research)

Portugal

Attending a wedding ceremony of agile colleagues

Since we was in Europe, we stopped by Portugal to attend the wedding ceremony. The groom is an agile expert based in Portugal.

Many agile colleagues were in attendance!

Czech

Product in Agile event presentation

Event presentations, panel discussions, workshops

Joe took the stage at Product in Agile, the largest event in Czech and Slovakia.

This event focuses specifically on the latest in product management and business innovation.

Joe’s workshop included #MobAI. We heard from the participants that they wanted to start the event as soon as possible, starting tomorrow.

The presentation also featured an agile case study at the largest Czech financial institution. Unfortunately, it was in Czech, so I wasn’t able to understand the details, but I learned a lot from the examples of financial institutions and the many workshops! I would definitely like to take it back to Japan.

Germany

Event panel discussion

This is the first event in Germany. This time he were invited by Mercedes-Benz to attend an event to share the latest innovations and solutions in automotive technology.

Joe participated as a panelist in the panel discussion.

The theme was “New Work,” and discussions included new ways of working and how organizations can promote digital transformation. Joe participated as an agile specialist, and the other five people were able to hear opinions from various positions, including CEOs and technology specialists.

Opinions such as university education is important because the younger generation will be in charge, an attractive office is important, a non-hierarchical organization is important, a review of organizational culture, and flexible budget settings were exchanged.

Many of the panelists seemed to be based in Germany, but I felt that they had a lot in common with Japan.

Presentation held at Capgemini

Capgemini is a comprehensive consulting firm headquartered in France.

Joe gave a presentation here.

I was a little surprised that the show started at 19:00, but from 18:59 onwards, no one spoke to me and everyone stopped chatting and took their seats. It may be selfish, but it was the moment when I felt the national character of Germany.

There seemed to be a lot of talented consultants and agile coaches, but “I was really inspired by Joe’s presentation!” “It had a deep emotion!” They called out to him.

JoeDX class held

They held a JoeDX class in Munich.

They had a copy of Joe’s book “Scrum Master” available at the venue, and participants requested Joe’s autograph. There was a line for autographs in front of Joe, and I was so grateful and happy!

Taiwan

Presented as RSG Taipei 2023 Closing Keynote

Joe took the stage as the closing keynote of Scrum Gathering Taiwan.

There were 37 speakers in attendance, and there were many very interesting sessions.

For Joe’s presentation, a local agile coach suddenly acted as an interpreter and translated into Taiwanese Mandarin. And a nice gray record too! ! ! It looks like Joe’s caricature, right? !

Additionally, a Chinese translation of Joe’s book “Scrum Master” was completed and announced during the presentation.

Netherlands

RTE Summit 2023 presentation

Joe gave a presentation at RTE Summit 2023.

RTE stands for SAFe Release Train Engineer, and it seems that there were many SAFe coaches and SAFe practitioners.

However, in the comments to Joe’s presentation, some people were so surprised that they said, “It blows my mind!”

Also, the facilitator at this event was very engaging. Although he was an SPCT (SAFe Program Consultant Trainer), he was also like a comedian.I realized once again that simply teaching concepts is not enough to influence people.

France

Presentation held at Reacteev

Joe’s presentation was held at Reacteev.

Woody Zuill, the creator of Mob, joined us and we had a chance to talk about Mob and other topics.

Joe also received an interview video, so we would like to translate it and publish it on ABI!

Switzerland

Presented as Keynote at Agile Unconference 2023

Joe gave a presentation as Keynote at Agile Unconference 2023.

Since it was an unconference, it was an event where participants freely came up with themes and created their own ideas using open space technology.

Joe was the only one giving a presentation here, so we had a very valuable time!

The event was held in Switzerland, and the event started with a question from the organizer: “Are there any people who don’t speak German?” Several people raised their hands, so they continued the discussion in English. When I stay in Europe, I hear people say things like “I ONLY speak 4 languages.” It’s natural for everyone to speak their native language, English, and multiple languages, and I have a lot of respect for them.

They held a JoeDX class in Bern, Switzerland. The room for about 50 people was full. thank you! Many of the participants were experts, including agile coaches.

We also interviewed experts from ABI, so we would like to publish them on MyABI!
